State officials say two more people have died from the flu in Delaware, bringing the total number of flu-related deaths this season to four.
The two most recent deaths were of a 29-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman— both in New Castle County, but with different strains of influenza.

As of last Saturday, there had been more than 2,400 confirmed cases of influenza in the state— with 141 hospitalizations. Officials note this number reflects only lab-confirmed cases, and that the actual number of flu cases is likely much higher.
Department of Public Health Director Dr. Karyl Rattay said in a statement that the best protection against the flu is to get vaccinated every year.
