Sussex County is providing a dose of financial medicine to help residents and businesses feeling the economic pain caused by the coronavirus crisis.
The Sussex County Council approved various measures Tuesday as part of the County’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The county is suspending its 3-percent hotel tax adopted last November and implemented in January.
It is also contributing up to $250,000 to the Delaware State Housing Authority’s Housing Assistance Program, specifically earmarked for renters in Sussex County.
Sussex County is also deferring - until further notice - the collection of lease payments for tenants of the Delaware Coastal Airport and Delaware Coastal Business Park in Georgetown.
