Smyrna High's win streak snapped at Slam Dunk to the Beach

Delaware’s top boys’ high school hoop team saw its impressive win streak end on day two of the 2017 Slam Dunk to the Beach tournament in Lewes.

Top-ranked Smyrna fell to New Jersey’s Roselle Catholic High 87-69 Thursday afternoon at Cape Henlopen High School.

That snapped the Eagles’ string of 25 consecutive victories.  They’re now 7-1 this season.

The other First State team in action at Slam Dunk Thursday was tourney host Cape Henlopen.  The Vikings, ranked 4th in the state, fell to California’s Harvard Westlake.  Cape led by 4 at halftime, but was outscored 29-14 in the second half.  The Vikings fall to to 4-2 on the season.

Cape Henlopen and 6th ranked Caravel meet Friday night in the final game of the three day Slam Dunk to the Beach tournament.  Tip-off is at 8 p.m.
