Seaford's CJ Faison runs well in XFINITY Series debut

Karl Malgiero/Delaware Public Media

Seaford native CJ Faison delivered a solid performance in his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Dover International Speedway.

After a two-year hiatus from NASCAR,  the 21-year-old Faison finished 23rd in Saturday’s “Buckle Up 200” after starting 37th in JGL Racing #26 car.

Faison spent the last two years presiding over his business ventures.

Before Saturday’s Xfinity Series debut, the last time he raced in Dover was a K&N Pro Series East race in 2013.  He led for about half of that race until a blowout forced him to the pits and a 24th place finish.

Xfinity Series points leader Chris Buescher  won the “Buckle Up 200” – his second win in three weeks.
