Rehoboth Beach Main Street hires new executive director

Aug 13, 2018

Rehoboth Beach Main Street has a new leader.

Karen Falk is the new executive director of Rehoboth Beach Main Street.

“The purpose of Rehoboth Beach Main Street is to pretty much, to grasp the economic vitality, design, promotion and organization of downtown. It’s focusing on not only the businesses, but also the residents to pull together.

Falk says you need all of those elements to have a strong and vibrant downtown.

She hopes to work with the City Commissioners and residents, as well as visitors, to make Rehoboth Beach shine.

Falk says one issue to address immediately is the rise in open parking spaces downtown this summer. She says she’s not sure if wet weather is keeping people away, especially on weekends. She intends to see if other area beach towns are experiencing the same thing this summer.

Before starting her new job last week at RBMS, Falk was director of marketing and communications with Jack Lingo Realtor for the past four years. She’s also a former executive director of Southern Delaware Tourism and is currently on the Board of Trustees for the Children’s Beach House in Lewes.

Falk takes over the position from Lorraine Dion who has been acting executive director since this past March.
