A Milford artist has been commissioned by the Rehoboth Art League (RAL) to paint the seven homes for the 70th Annual Cottage Tour of Art.
Rosemary Connelly earned the honor for the 2019 Cottage Tour this July.
“The Rehoboth Art League every year has a lovely home tour and they arrange for seven or eight homes to be visited on set days. The dates this year are July 9 and 10 where people can go in an see these wonderful homes in Rehoboth,” said Connelly.
Connelly says she's currently creating a watercolor of each of the seven private homes and images of her works will then be used in the Tour program.
“They are pen and ink and watercolor paintings," said Connelly. "The paintings themselves are on 11”X14” watercolor paper. So the way I work is, I will draw with my pen and then I will add watercolor to the image.”
Connelly says most of the paintings are straight-on views, so when you drive by the homes you get a street-view of the home.
Her original watercolors will given to the homeowners during a June reception.
