Red Clay teacher on leave after incident involving online video

A teacher at Thomas McKean High School is on leave pending an investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department into an incident involving a video posted to the teacher’s social media account.

The News Journal reports the video showed the teacher masturbating.

Red Clay Consolidated School District officials say the incident came to the administration’s attention last week, and that the district immediately contacted authorities.

According to the District, the video did not involve any students or in any way relate to the school. But Red Clay officials believe students may have seen it online.

The school has made counselors available to students and staff and has contacted parents.
