Public Archives adds artistic touch

The Delaware Public Archives recently unveiled a new exhibition featuring the creations of Wilmington forged-glass artist Marci Tauber.

The exhibit is now on display in the Friends of the Delaware Public Archives Meeting Room, the offering in the new "The Arts at the Archives" series.

State Archivist Stephen Marz says it’s an effort to use the Archives to highlight another aspect of First State culture.

“It’s a wonderful new venture that the Delaware Public Archives is moving forward with in cooperation with Delaware’s Division of the Arts,” said Marz. "And what we’re doing is showcasing Delaware’s artists in some of our areas of the Archives that has a lot of foot traffic and where we can have people exhibit their materials.”

The exhibit is open during business hours at the Public Archives.

The goal is to rotate artists throughout the year.  A new artist's work will be on display in October.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from theDelaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
