Paul McCartney officially announced as top headliner at 2015 Firefly Festival

Red Frog Events

The obscured final name headlining the 2015 Firefly Festival has come into focus.

Former Beatle and legendary artist Paul McCartney tops the list of over 100 musical acts coming to the Woodlands at the Dover International Speedway June 18th through the 21st.

The announcement comes less than a week after the festival unveiled the bulk of its lineup following weeks of speculation and delays. But that announcement left the final headline act - McCartney - blurred out because final approvals weren’t in place.

Festival officials promise a memorable experience for everyone - touting the size and spectacle of McCartney's three-hour live show.

“We’re not only excited, but honored, to have Paul McCartney join us at The Woodlands this year,” Firefly Music Festival Director Greg Bostrom said in a statement. “With his addition, this year’s lineup is our most exciting one yet.”

McCartney is riding a wave of resurgent popularity among millennials after recent collaborations with contemporary artists like Rihanna and Kanye West - and recently performed on Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary special.

The First State date is latest confirmed on Sir Paul's Out There tour – and will be McCartney’s first time playing to fans in Delaware.

As promised, Firefly will begin selling General Admission passes at noon on Monday, March 2nd through their website - and VIP pass options will be available starting this Friday.
