The Music School of Delaware kicks off new concert season

Music School of Delaware

The Music School of Delaware is getting ready to honor its supporters with a musical “thank you” next week.

The Music School’s president and CEO Kate Ransom says the school opens its new concert season October 3rd with a Music Masters performance called “The Magic of Music.”

“This is a thank you concert, so we welcome all of our supporters to come out and enjoy the evening. And it’s also a very special program because we gather together 15 to 18 members of our faculty to form a small string orchestra,” Ransom said.

Ransom says the complete orchestra includes violins, violas, cellos, a bass and harpsichord.

“And we play this beautiful program of works by Bach. Mozart and Rossini. And it’s just an absolute evening of delight,” Ransom said.                                                     .”

Ransom says the musical performance is a thank you to Music School’s families, faculty and donors, and not only features the all-star orchestra made up of its faculty, but also guest artists from regional ensembles and orchestras.

Tickets for the event are only $10 or $5 for students and seniors and may be purchased here.

Other professional concerts scheduled at Music School's Wilmington branch include shows highlighting the music of the 1930s and the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, along with the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration. There will also be faculty recitals at both the Wilmington and Milford branches, as well as performaces from the Wilmington Community Orchestra.
