MegaMillions, Powerball jackpots still growing

Delaware Public Media

Two huge jackpots are up for grabs this weekend for lottery players in Delaware and across the country.

No one claimed the top prizes in MegaMillions or Powerball this week, pushing their combined worth to a whopping $862 million.

The MegaMillions’ jackpot has now cracked the top 10 all-time in the U.S.

It sits at $548 million dollars for Friday night’s drawing. That’s the 9th largest ever and the biggest MegaMillions prize since two winners split a $648 million prize in December 2013.

Another $314 million is for grabs Saturday’s Powerball drawing.

Delaware is still looking for its first ever MegaMillions jackpot winner. The state’s last Powerball win came in December 2016 when a winning ticket worth nearly $122 million was sold at a Selbyville gas station.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are one in over 302 million.  The Powerball odds are about one in 292 million.
