Hospitalizations hold at low point, another day of single-digit COVID deaths

Delaware health officials report another day of single digit deaths and downward trending data related to COVID-19.

Seven more people have died from the virus bringing the total statewide to 317.

The latest victims ranged in age between 62 and 88. Six lived in New Castle County and one in Sussex County. All seven had underlying health conditions. Six were long-term care facility residents.

 

192 more people have tested positive. 8,386 have in Delaware to date.

The number of hospitalizations held steady for a second day at 220 - that’s the lowest point in more than a month. 39 people are critically ill.

The percentage of people testing positive and the five-day average new positive cases each continue to trend downward as well - 9.3% and 66.3 respectively.

And another 165 patients have recovered from the virus, bringing that total to 4,130 since the start of the outbreak.

Sussex County passed 4,000 COVID-19 cases today for a total of 4,006. New Castle County passed 3,000 and is now at 3,053. Kent County has 1,281 cases to date.
