Hospitalizations fall as Delaware COVID-19 deaths remain in single digits

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Current hospitalizations for COVID-19 in Delaware fell to their lowest point in more than a month as deaths stayed in the single digits for the fourth straight day.

State officials added six more deaths to the statewide total Wednesday.  That number is now 310.

The latest victims ranged in age from 60 to 90. Three lived in New Castle County, two in Kent County, and one in Sussex County. Five had underlying health conditions. Three were long-term care facility residents.

Current hospitalizations fell by 16 for a total of 220. 35 are critically ill.

Positive cases rose by 157.  That brings the total since March 11th to 8,194.  Most new cases were in New Castle County with 88.  56 were in Sussex County.  And, only 15 were discovered in Kent County.  Sussex County still has the most positive cases overall with 3,960.

But the 5-day average of the percentage of people who tested positive remains below 10.

And another 205 COVID-19 patients have recovered,  raising that total to 3,965.
