Hodgson, Howard capture Delaware high school football titles

High school football champs were crowned Saturday at Delaware Stadium - with Hodgson and Howard taking home the titles.

Hodgson grabbed the Division I title with a resounding 54-31 win over Middletown.  It was Delaware’s highest scoring state football championship game ever.

The win gives the Silver Eagles their first ever Division I crown and caps off a perfect 12-0 season.

Running back Josh Ames led the way with 191 yards rushing and three scores.  Quarterback C.J. Henry adde 161 yards passing and four touchdowns.

Woodbridge fell short in its effort to win back-to-back Division II titles.

Howard held off Woodbridge 16-15 to capture its second Division II crown, and fist since 2015.

Howard finishes it season at 12-1, with its only loss coming to Division I state champ Hodgson.

Woodbridge ends the year at 11-2.
