2014 Candidate Conversations: Attorney General

As part of our election coverage, Delaware Public Media is offering a series of Candidate Conversations. We’ve reached out to all candidates that have filed to run in a statewide race and invited them to sit down with us. Candidates in each race are being asked the same set of questions to allow you to get to know then and compare them.

This week, we conclude our look at the race for State Attorney General. There are a handful of hopefuls seeking to replace incumbent Democrat Beau Biden who announced in April he would not run for another term, but instead seek the Governor’s office in 2016.

Democrat and current Lt. Gov. Matt Denn and Republican Ted Kittila are joined in the race by The Green Party’s Catherine Damanvandi, the Independent Party of Delaware’s David Graham and Libertarian John Machurek.

Machurek did not respond to our invitation to participate, but the others did. On this week's show, we hear from Graham and Kittila. (More)

But keeping a wide swath of candidates on message could prove difficult - even without the voter registration disparity between the First State’s two major parties. That’s why, as Delaware Public Media political reporter James Dawson reports, that tactic is something of a rarity at the state level. (More)

Enlighten Me: What's in a name? Craft brewers use innuendo, humor and a whiff of controversy to stand out

[jwplayer config="jw-audio-only_post" mediaid="68590"]

With this weekend’s fifth annual Delaware Wine and Beer Fest in Dover, we got to wondering -- “How do those craft breweries come up with the unique – and occasionally outrageous- beer names and labels that go with their often unique brews?” We put contributor Pam George of Small Wonder, Big Bites on the case –and she offers some answers in this week's Enlighten Me.
