2014 Candidate Conversations: State Auditor

The 2014 election cycle is now moving into full swing with the Delaware primary a month away on Tuesday Sept.9th.

As part of our election coverage, Delaware Public Media is offering a series a Candidate Conversations. We’ve reached out to all candidates that have filed to run in a statewide race and invited them to sit down with us. Candidates in each race are being asked the same set of questions to allow you to get to know then and compare them.

This week, we highlight the State Auditor’s race where the Democratic primary between Ken Matlusky and Brenda Mayrack will determine who tries to unseat Republican incumbent Tom Wagner, the only Republican currently holding a statewide elected office and who is seeking 7th term. (More)

Competitive rowing and golf are sports which historically required a membership to pursue. These so called ‘country club sports’ were once dominated by white athletes or the privileged. The sports have since become more inclusive but there’s still more than can be done to introduce them to urban youth.

In this week’s Enlighten Me, Delaware Public Media's Cathy Carter introduces us to a few of the folks with “Row For It” and “The First Tee”-two sports camps using athletics as a powerful platform for developing skills both on and off the water and the fairway. (More)
