Gas prices still falling in the First State

Delaware Public Media

First State drivers continue to enjoy falling gas prices.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular in Delaware is $2.25

That’s down another 3 cents from a week ago and 28 cents from a month ago.

It’s also the lowest price the state has seen this year and 16 cents cheaper that what drivers were paying this time last year.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says falling crude oil prices have fueled the drop in prices, but that trend could end soon as oil producing countries in OPEC may vote to cut production when they meet next month.

Gas prices in Delaware are well below the national average – which sits at $2.56.

And the First State remains the cheapest place in the region to fuel up.  The average price for a gallon of regilat in the Philadelphia area is at $2.74.   It’s between $2.45 and $2.57 South Jersey and $2.43 in Maryland.
