Freeman Stage unveils its 2017 schedule

The Freeman Stage at Bayside has finalized its 2017 summer line-up.

The Selbyville venue’s 10th season offers a wide-ranging roster of 55 events, topped by bevy of national acts.

Among those slated to visit the Sussex County open-air arts venue are Jay Leno on June 30th, Gary Clark Jr. on July 17th, Chicago on August 1st and Trombone Shorty on Aug. 3rd. There’s also back to back concerts with Blues Traveler July 11th and the Wallflowers and Better Than Ezra July 12th

The Freeman Stage’s Saturday Morning children’s series also returns, along with shows from local arts groups such as the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, the First State Ballet, and Clear Space Theatre.

And those looking for some blasts from the past – tribute bands playing the music of The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, ABBA and The Band dot the schedule

The Freeman Stage has drawn over 322,000 people over its first 9 years, with attendance growing from 13,000 in year one to 62,000 last summer.

The 2017 season kicks off with the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus May 27th.
