Delaware’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in January was unchanged from December 2019.
In January 2020, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Delaware was 4.0%, the same as in December 2019.
There were 19,400 Delawareans unemployed this past January compared to 17,100 in January 2019.
Delaware lags behind the national rate, which was 3.6% in January up from 3.5% in December.
A year earlier, the national rate was 4.0% and Delaware was at 3.5%.
Meanwhile, the seasonally nonfarm-employment was 468,400 in January up from 465,900 in December. In a year, Delaware’s total nonfarm jobs have increased by a net gain of +4,100, which is a rise of 0.9%.
Nationally, jobs during that period increased 1.5%.
