Delaware Public Media

Cleaning up from Thursday’s snowstorm is expected to take well into Friday's morning commute in many places across the First State.  That’s prompted schools in Delaware to announce they will remain closed Friday.

In New Castle County, Appoquinimink, Brandywine, Christina, Colonial, New Castle Vo-Tech and Red Clay schools districts will all be closed Friday.

In Central Delaware, Caesar Rodney, Capital, Lake Forest, Milford, Polytech, Smyrna and Woodbridge School Districts are closed Friday.

In Sussex County, Delmar, Laurel, Seaford and Sussex Tech School Districts are closed Friday.  Cape Henlopen and Indian River had previously scheduled days off.

The University of Delaware is closed.

Delaware State University is closing all of its campuses - including the main Dover campus.

All Delaware Tech campuses (Georgetown, Dover, Wilmington/Stanton) are closed. Goldey-Beacom College is closed.

State offices are opening two hours late at 10am. New Castle, Kent and Sussex County offices are also delaying opening until 10am.

City of Wilmington offices are opening two hours late.  Offices in Dover and Newark will open late at 10am.
