First State returns to Northeast neighbors' travel advisory list

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Delaware finds itself  back on multiple regional travel lists.

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut each added the First State and Alaska to a list requiring travellers to quarantine for 14-days.

There are now a total of 33 states and territories on the list.

The last time Delaware was added to these lists, Gov. John Carney said he was quote- “mad as hell” as data indicated lower relative spread of the virus in Delaware.

And the First State is continuing to see low COVID numbers.

The current number of hospitalizations has hovered around the 30 mark for the past few days. The latest update reports 32 statewide with 7 people considered critically ill.

The average number of people testing positive is below 5%, sitting at 4.6% as of Monday. And the state is logging an average of just over 73 new cases per day.

But both of those numbers are on a slight upward trend. The average number of people testing positive was 3.7% one week ago, while the average number of cases daily was at 65.6 this time last week.

To date Delaware has counted 16,593 total cases of COVID-19 and 593 related deaths.

The last new death was reported August 11th.
