The City of Dover has a new city councilman in District Two.

Former Dover patrolman Ralph Taylor beat out three other contenders in Tuesday’s City Council election with 148 votes - just under 60-percent of the votes cast.

Taylor, who is on the Capital School District Board of Education, fills the seat left open when former City Councilman Brian Lewis was elected sheriff of Kent County last November.

Albert Holmes Jr. came in second place in the four-way race with 81 votes.

Mayor Robin Christiansen ran unopposed and will get another term in office. First District Councilman Matt Lindell, Third District Councilman Scott Cole and Fourth District Councilman Roy Sudler also won uncontested races.
