Delaware State Police will be hosting “Year in Review” meetings over the next two weeks.

The “Year in Review” meetings are scheduled to be hosted by DSP Troop 7 in Lewes and Troop 4 in Georgetown, according to DSP spokeswoman Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

“It’s an opportunity for us to provide the public with a better understanding of how law enforcement in those jurisdictions function and the duties and responsibilities that those Troopers handle on a daily basis. Topics that will be covered will include a review of the rates of the crime, crashes and investigative clearances in 2017,” Corporal Jaffe said.

Corporal Jaffe adds that State Police will also outline how law enforcement plans have been adjusted for this year.

Areas covered at the meetings will include Eastern, Central and Southern Sussex County.

Jaffe says the first meeting is Troop 7’s THIS Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m.  at the DNREC Conference Room on Pilottown Road in Lewes. Troop 4 holds its meeting Thursday, April 26 at 10 a.m. at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center in Georgetown.

“The meetings are open to the public and we certainly welcome and encourage everyone to attend. It’s a great opportunity for the community to exchange ideas for maximum public safety where they live, work and travel,” said Corporal Jaffe.
