Delaware State’s first ever post-season home game ended in disappointment.
DSU, making its first post-season appearance since 2007, fell to Radford 78-57 in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational at Memorial Hall.The Hornets and Highlanders were tied at 35 at halftime, but Radford used a 14-4 run to open the second half to pull away. DSU shot just 25 percent from the field in the second half, compared to Radford’s 55 percent.
Del State played the game without three of its starters, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year Kendall Gray, leading scorer Amere May, and Kendal Williams, who sat due to injury or illness.
Delaware State finishes the season at 18-18.
