Christiana Care earns high marks in hospital report

Christiana Care Health System is ranked number three in the Philadelphia region by U.S. News and World Report in its annual report on the nation’s “Best Hospitals.”

Christiana Care was ranked number one among hospitals in the First State; the 28th annual hospital rankings compared nearly 5,000 American medical centers.

Christiana Care President and CEO Janice Nevin says the hospitals is pleased to be recognized for it efforts to help surrounding communities to achieve optimal health while working to provide patients with the best in innovative and value-driven care. 

Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Kenneth Silverstein says the high ranking is a team effort.

"And the best way to sum it up is to say that we serve together. You know healthcare is absolutely a team sport," Dr. Silverstein.

Among hospitals nationwide, Christiana Care scored a notable national rank in several areas. The hospital system scored:  34th in Diabetes and Endocrinology, 36th in Nephrology and 37th in Gastroenterology and GI Surgery.
