Capital School District is getting everything it asked for in its three-part tax referendum.

District residents approved all three pieces of the $115.67 million dollar ask Tuesday.

The capital request to help pay for two new middle schools to replace Central Middle and William Henry Middle schools was approved by a 945 vote margin (1,746-801).  Those new middle schools will be built next to each other on the former Dover High School campus.

A second capital ask for additional funds to handle other capital improvements around the district won by 904 votes (1,649-745).

Voters also said “yes” to Captial’s first requested increase for operating expenses since 2005 by a margin of 799 votes (1.661-862).

District officials say the average homeowner will see the biggest increase to their tax bill in the second year of the hike –when they’ll owe a little over $5 more per month.
