Blue Rocks win home opener

The Wilmington Blue Rocks won their 2015 home opener in walk-off fashion.

The Rocks edged Frederick Keys 3-2 – scoring the game winner in the bottom of the ninth on centerfielder Bubba Starling’s one out RBI double.Cody Reed picked up the win for the Blue Rocks, pitching 4 inning of shutout relief to move to 2-0 and drop his ERA to 1.00.

Wilmington’s win before a sell-out crowd of  6,338 fans at Frawley Stadium snapped Frederick’s 6 game win streak while lifting the Blue Rocks to 4-3 to start the season.

The Rocks and Keys face-off again Friday night at 7:05 on the Wilmington Riverfront.
