Blue Rocks swamped in 2015 opener

The Wilmington Blue Rocks 2015 season got off to a rocky start at Myrtle Beach Thursday night.

The Rocks mustered little in the way of offense in a 9-1 loss to the Pelicans.

Myrtle Beach pounded out 15 hits against Wilmington pitching en route to the 8 run rout.

The Blue Rocks only run came in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Dominique Taylor.  That left Wilmington down by a run 2-1 at the time, but the Pelicans responded with a 5 run fifth inning to break the game open.

The Rocks look to rebound Friday night in game two of the four game set at Myrtle Beach.
