The Blue Rocks fall short in Game 1 of the Mills Cup Carolina League Tuesday night.
The Fayetteville Woodpeckers edged the Rocks 3-1 at Frawley Stadium to take the opener of the best of five series.
Wilmington managed just a run and five hits in the loss.
They’ll try to rebound in Game 2 of the series Wednesday night – again at Frawley Stadium.
First pitch is at 6:35 pm.
