Blue Rocks capture 2019 Carolina League title

The Blue Rocks are the 2019 Carolina League champs.

The Rocks won the fifth and deciding game in the Mills Cup final 2-0 in Fayetteville to win their first league title since 1999.

A solo home run from Dennicher Carrasco in the 4th inning and an RBI double from Nick Pratto in the 9th were all the Rocks needed to get the job done.

Four Rocks pitchers combined to scatter 9 hits while striking out 10 Woodpeckers.

Wilmington proved resilient in their run to the title, going 5-0 in elimination games, including Saturday night winner-take-all Mills Cup Game 5.

The Blue Rocks have now won 5 Carolina League titles in their history.
