Biggs hosts Award Winners XVI exhibition

Biggs Museum of American Art
The show features media arts, music, folk art, jazz and literature.

The Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover is celebrating 16 Delaware artists with its annual Award Winners XVI show.

The Delaware Division of the Arts and the Arts Council award the fellowships in visual, literary and performing arts.

Curator Ryan Grover said the show features painters, craft artisans, choreographers and everything in between.

“Sometimes we just do a live performance in the middle of the exhibition just to share whatever individuals are able to,” Grover said.

He said the show puts works in one space, with paintings hanging next to printed word and video performances.

The exhibit starts August 5 and runs through the end of October.

An award ceremony and reception will be held on Saturday, October 1 at the Biggs Museum.
