Andre Boggerty wins Dover City Council seat

Andre Boggerty won the lone contested race in Dover’s municipal election Tuesday.

 

Boggerty defeated two opponents for the at-large seat on City Council.

 

Boggerty took home 470 votes, over half the ballots cast.

 

Michael Lewis and LaVaughn McCutchen earned 294 and 125 votes respectfully.

 

Boggerty arrived in Dover back in 1992, when he was stationed at the Dover Air Force Base. He says after his time in the Air Force, he decided to stay here after falling in love with the city.

 

Boggerty says public safety and economic development are issues he’d like to focus on, topics of importance among other members of the city council.

 

All other council members up for re-election. ran unopposed. City Council terms are four year terms in Dover.
