Blades voters re-elect one councilman and one newcomer

One incumbent of the Blades Town Council has been re-elected, while another was ousted in Monday’s election.

Councilman and Streets Commissioner Russell Joseph collected 50 votes, while newcomer Michael Smith received the second highest number of votes with 45.

Councilman and Vice Mayor Lee Benningfield only received 33 votes and another challenger, Joseph Donahue, got only 16 votes.

The Blades Town council will swear in all the winners at next Monday’s Town Council meeting.
