Sanders, Rubio add names to Delaware Presidential primary ballot

Two more presidential candidates have filed signatures to appear on Delaware's primary ballots -- including the first Democrat.

Bernie Sanders' campaign submitted its petition to the state elections office Thursday.

Marco Rubio also filed his signatures. He's the fourth Republican to qualify for the Delaware ballot. Jeb Bush was first, followed by John Kasich and Donald Trump.

The deadline for candidates to file signatures is next Friday, Feb. 26. That’s also the deadline for voters to change their party affiliation for the primary.

Those deadlines fall two months before Delaware's April 26 primary. The last day to register to vote is April 2.

Delaware Public Media will air live NPR News coverage from the next two primaries -- South Carolina and the Nevada caucuses -- starting Saturday at 5 p.m. on WDDE 91.1 FM in Dover and WMPH 91.7 FM in Wilmington.
