The First State sees a spike in COVID-related deaths.
State health officials report 10 more people have died, pushing the state’s death toll to 826.
Six of the deaths were in New Castle County and two each in Kent and Sussex Counties. All of the victims were over 62-years-old and had underlying health conditions. Three lived in long-term care facilities.
Delaware saw 690 new cases Monday, leaving its 7-day rolling average for new cases above 800 at 819
And COVID-related hospitalizations statewide hit another new high, rising to 376. 62 people are considered in critical condition – up from 50 on Sunday.
The state’s seven day rolling percentage of positive tests is holding below 10 at 9.6 percent.
Delaware has now had over 47,000 positive cases of COVID-19 out of more than 854,000 total tests.
