DART’s daily Beach Bus service returns just ahead of the July 4th holiday.
The Beach Bus service starts Monday, June 29, and buses will operate frequently from early morning to late night, seven days a week, until September 20.
The buses are air-conditioned, ADA accessible, and all have bike racks.
Delaware Transit Corporation spokeswoman Julie Theyerl offers a rundown of the services available starting on Monday.
"Starting on Monday we'll be running all of our Beach Bus services including the Route 203 that goes from Lewes to Dewey, the route 208 that operates from Rehoboth down to Ocean City, Maryland, and then also the 305 Beach connection and this is a weekend holiday service that operates from Wilmington down to Rehoboth," said Theyerl.
COVID-19 safety precautions are still in place.
Theyerl says riders will not be allowed on if they don’t have face coverings.
"We do still have some safety precautions riders must wear face coverings and that's part of the governor's declaration so operators, the drivers, and the passengers are required to wear face coverings," said Theyerl. "We are limiting the capacity to 60 percent to ensure social distancing."
DART is also encouraging everyone to use the DART Pass app which is contactless, and there are discounts on the daily, 7-day, and 30-day passes.
