Holiday traffic numbers identical to last year

Delaware Public Media

Traffic on First State highways during the holiday season andthe toll revenue it produced remained about the same this year compared to last year.

Delaware’s Department of Transportation reports the state’s three main toll plazas collected about $4.5 million from travelers around Christmas and New Year’s Day - virtually identical to a year ago.

In all, nearly 1.6 million vehicles passed through the state’s toll plazas on I-95 in Newark and on Route 1 at Dover and Biddle’s Corner during the key travel days around the two holidays. That’s up slightly from a year ago.
