Delaware crew returns home from fighting wildfires

DDA Forest Service

A crew of Delaware wildland firefighters is back home Sunday after a spending a couple of busy weeks battling blazes out west.

The 20-person team returned this morning after two weeks working two fires in Idaho.

First, they helped tackle the nearly 53 thousand-acre Henry’s Creek fire just east of Idaho Falls.  That was 100 percent contained September 1st.

The crew then assisted battling the 1,260-acre Grape Creek Fire, near Elba, Idaho – which was sparked by lightning on September 1.

This is the second Delaware crew to head west this summer to help fight wildfires.  The other fought blazes in Colorado and Wyoming in late July and early August.
