Tower Hill School concludes internal investigation of former headmaster

Tower Hill School has released the results of an internal investigation of its former headmaster found guilty in December of dealing in child pornography.

Kroll Consulting the largest private investigation firm in the world interviewed 90 people for its six month long probe of Christopher Wheeler who faces a mandatory 50 years in prison at his sentencing on April 24th.

A 2013 Child Predator Task Force investigation turned up multiple images of child pornography on computers and other digital media at Wheeler’s school owned home and office.

In a letter sent to parents and posted on Tower Hill’s website, school officials say investigators found no evidence of any abuse by Dr. Wheeler at Tower Hill or any indication that anyone at the school knew that he was engaged in child pornography.

Additionally, the letter states that Kroll Consulting found that Wheeler’s hiring vetting process was thorough and comprehensive and there were no “red flags” of any abusive conduct by the former headmaster.

School officials says they have since implemented training of faculty and staff in the prevention, identification and response to and reporting of child abuse conducted by the Delaware Department of Justice.
