NASCAR fans can start planning for a pair of race weekends in Dover next year.
Dover International Speedway announced Wednesday it is slated to host a pair of tripleheader weekends in 2016
The spring weekend will be May 13th through May 15th with a Friday Truck series race joining XFINITY Series cars on Saturday and Sunday’s Sprint Cup race.
The fall weekend September 30th through October 1st will have a Friday K-and-N Pro Series East race in addition to XFINITY Series racing Saturday and a Sunday Sprint Cup race.
The fall Sprint Cup race will serve as the first “knockout race” in the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship for a third straight year– with the championship field reduced from 16 to 12 drivers at the end of that third race in the playoff format.
Tickets are on sale now for the spring race weekend and deposits of as low as 10 percent can be made on tickets for the fall races.
