Gas prices hold steady in First State

Gas prices remain fairly stable as October comes to a close.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular in the First State sits at $2.36 - down about three cents from a week ago.

AAA notes that gasoline stocks in the Northeast and nationwide continue to decline while demand rises. But crude oil prices are holding steady, keeping gas prices in most areas in check for the time being.

Delaware drivers have seen prices dip around 10 cents a gallon from September when they were paying $2.45 on average.

And delawaregasprices.com reports over a dozens stations, mainly in Kent County, have prices or $2.25 or lower

First State prices are the cheapest in the region. It’s average price for a gallon of regular is $2.48 in South Jersey, $2.72 in Philadelphia and its suburbs, and $2.46 in Maryland.

The national average sits at $2.61.
