First State drivers should see lower prices at pump soon

Delaware Public Media

AAA Mid-Atlantic say gas prices are expected to “fall” as summer comes to a close.

First State drivers have enjoyed low gas prices throughout the summer of 2019 despite a Philadelphia oil refinery shuttering in July after an explosion at the plant.

And AAA says the region could see as much as a 25 cent decrease in those prices in the coming months.

Delaware motorists have already seen prices dip substantially since they hit their high for the year this spring.

The average price for a gallon of regular is now $2.33 - down from $2.80 in April.  And delaware gas prices.com reprorts over a dozen stations up and down the state selling regular for $2.23 or lower

That’s the cheapest in the region. It’s average price for a gallon of regular is $2.50 in South Jersey, $2.77 in Philadelphia and its suburbs, and $2.46 in Maryland.

The national average sits at $2.57.
