Fans visiting Dover for NASCAR race weekends this year have an opportunity to improve their parking situation.
Dover International Speedway is offering two new parking options.
The Speedway’s manager of communications Mike Lewis says they were able to find extra spots in the shadow of the turn four grandstand to create some premium spaces.
“We were able to clear out some extra room for tailgate parking and reserved parking. The tailgate parking option is $100 for the whole weekend and it’s a bigger than normal space; it’s about twice the size of a normal space. And guests can have that exclusive spot throughout the whole weekend; they can come on Friday and come back on Saturday and come back on Sunday and that space will be right there waiting for them,” Lewis said.
Lewis says the new tailgating and reserved lots also provide fans easy access to admission and departure.
“It’s just a very convenient way to enjoy our May 3-5 race weekend and the same for the reserved parking. The tailgate parking spots are a little bigger than the reserved parking; that’s why the reserved parking is $50 for the whole weekend and the tailgate is $100. But they’re both very convenient options, just outside of turn four and near our FanZone,” said Lewis.
Lewis says they also have created 45 regular-sized parking spots in that same area that can be reserved for the weekend for just $50.
He notes the tailgate spots are extremely limited. There are only 20 of the 20-foot-wide spots available.
The spots can be purchased online when buying tickets or by calling the Monster Mile today at 800-441-RACE (7223).
