Dogfish Head brewing founder Sam Calagione has received the Beard Award as the nation’s most outstanding beer, wine or spirits professional.
Calagione took home the award Monday night at the 2017 James Beard Awards Gala in Chicago.
The event is often called the “Oscars” of the culinary world.
It’s Calagione’s first win. He’s been nominated for the award seven years in a row.
