Capital Ringers ready to release virtual summer concert

The Capital Ringers is about to release a new virtual show for summer.

Delmarva’s community handbell ensemble, the Capital Ringers, is releasing a new virtual show this summer.

This is the first time the Capital Ringers have ever done a summer show.

It’s called “Rise Up:  Reflect, Ring, Renew.”

"We wanted to keep it upbeat and reflective - at the same time - knowing that we were breaking through this pandemic," said Linda Simms, the Capital Ringers founder and artistic director. "So it’s not completely patriotic; it’s not completely sacred; but we have a nice mixture to give that all-American resilience, feel that we can do this together.”

Simms says the show will be released on June 20, featuring six inspirational pieces, including America the Beautiful, You Raise Me Up, What A Wonderful World, All-American Hometown Band, You'll Never Walk Alone and Go the Distance from the Disney movie "Hercules."

Simms says Go the Distance is their salute to all the frontline workers, first responders, teachers and others and how they endured during the coronavirus pandemic.

A video link to the virtual show is available for $15.
