Delaware Art Museum show explores spontaneity and intuition

Fluidity, the new four-woman exhibit at the Delaware Art Museum, explores the collective emotions of the artists.

Delaware Curator Mary Holahan said the show intertwines each artist's emotions with their specific type of artwork.

"Each one has the mastery of very specific techniques. All different," Holahan said. They use, "Sculptural ceramics, found object installations, watercolor, pastel. So that is very diverse."

The four artists, Carla Lombardi, Libbie Soffer, N. Sarangoulis and Valetta, are each from the region.

Holahan said the show incorporates the four artists interpretations of their own emotions.

"Fluidity calls up thoughts of flux and exploration and suggests the spontaneity and intuition that animates their art," she said.

The show is part of the Delaware Art Museum’s ongoing Outlooks series. It runs Sept.4 - Feb. 13.
