UD names interim provost

Delaware Public Media

University of Delaware president Dennis Assanis has named an interim provost.

Department of Biological Sciences chair Robin Morgan will step into the role starting October 16th.

Morgan takes over for Domenico Grasso, who the school announced last week is stepping down after nearly 5 years on the job.

Morgan has been on UD’s faculty since 1985 and was dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources from 2002 to 2012.  She’s been chair of the Department of Biological Sciences since 2016.

The school says it will form a search committee in the coming weeks to find a new full-time provost to replace Grasso, who intends to return to the UD faculty after a one-year administrative leave.
