Southern Delaware Tourism launches "Fall for Our History"

Southern Delaware Tourism

Southern Delaware Tourism is trying to show that there’s more to visiting Sussex County than just the beaches.

Southern Delaware Tourism is launching a new effort to shine a spotlight on Sussex County history attractions and activities.

The group’s executive director Scott Thomas says it’s called “Fall for Our History.”

“It’s about history in Sussex County and Fall travel, which for a lot of people, it’s their favorite time of year to travel here. And we’re trying to make it even more compelling by putting together as much of Sussex County history experiences into one source, one landing page, on VisitSouthernDelaware .com,” said Thomas.

Thomas says “Fall for Our History” is a three-month-long celebration of Sussex County heritage that will take place between September and November.

He says the goal is to encourage visitors to extend their fall weekend stays and take in many history-focused events, tours and attractions during that time - including the Apple Scrapple Festival in Bridgeville, the Sea Witch Festival in Rehoboth Beach and the Nanticoke Indian Powwow in Millsboro.
