Gono earns NFL roster spot

via Wesley College Athletics

When the Eagles and Atlanta Falcons open the new NFL season Thursday night, a former Wesley College player will be on the field.

Offensive lineman Matt Gono made the Falcons’ finaI 53 man roster as a back-up tackle.  Gono, who wrapped up his Wesley career last fall, was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent.

He’s only the second Wolverine ever to make an NFL regular season roster, joining quarterback Joe Callahan, who was with Green Bay in 2016 and a year ago.

Callahan was on the Eagles preseason roster this year, but was cut Saturday.
