Food Bank of Delaware brings workforce development programs together

The Food Bank of Delaware has announced a new workforce development program.

The program is called Delaware Food Works, and Food Bank of Delaware spokeswoman Kim Turner says it’s an effort to bring together all the organization’s efforts to train those looking for work.

“Delaware Food Works is an umbrella for all of the workforce development initiatives that come out of the Food Bank of Delaware. Since 2002, we’ve had the Culinary School that operates out of  both of Newark and Milford facilities. And this fall, we’re excited to launch two new programs," said Turner.

Turner says those two new programs are L.O.G.I.C. (Logistics, Operations, General Warehousing and Inventory Control) and F.A.S.T. (Farm and Agriculture Skills Training).

She notes through Delaware Food Works workforce development programming, Delawareans can receive the training needed for a new career in as little as 11 weeks. Specialized one-day and one-week training is also available.
